1.  NAY! no abode for us on earth 

     This of woe unto sinners be 

     No passion for The holy saints 

     They desire heavenly rest.


2.  Nay! no abode for us on earth

     What a woe! if our home is here

     May our thought pleasant moment brought 

     All our hope the city to come.


3.  Nay! no abode for us on earth 

     The great city, sought but not seen 

     Zion the city of our Lord

     Ever shine ever gleaming light.


4.  Lord who art the abode of love 

     Where the pilgrims their rest observe

    E’en though wings I have like the dove 

    Unto Thee I shall fly and rest.


5.  Be still and not enraged my soul 

     Wait for the season of the Lord 
    
     Mine; Thine will alone to obey 

     Thine; Me with Thy glory endow.  Amen
