HYMN 798
t.GB 466 (FE 833)
“Come thous with us, and we will do
thee good" - Num. 10:29
1. YE Holy Saints where goest thou?
And clutching palm fronds in thine hand
We’re marching on our King to meet
As He hath promiseth to us.
Chorus: We’re marching forth, to palace of
our King
Onto the promised land
Whereforth sinners can never dwell
Wherefoth there is eternal rest.
2. Ye sacred Saints to us inform
Of eternal joy there exists
Of the white robes and glorious crown
From Jesus Christ, to us attain.
Chorus: We’re marching forth...
3. We hath no dwelling abode here
Dreadful, if here be our abode
Joy at the dawn, weeping at dusk
But naught of this art found above.
Chorus: We’re marching forth...
4. Open ajar the door, ye Saints
For earthly Saints to enter in
We of the earth from woe and pains
Now here with Holy God to dwell.
Chorus: We’re marching forth...
5. Great multitude from all the world
With satan hath fought, vict’ry won
All adopted children of God
Come O! my friend, ere it’s too late.
Chorus: We’re marching forth...
6. The earthly terrain all of naught
With the Lord, come, invest to gain
The earthly friends art all but vain
Un-denying friend art the Lord.
Chorus: We’re marching forth...
7. The earth, its savour now is lost
The earthly value, all is dross
Come to the Lord, brethren decide
Eternal joy, all ye may earn.
Chorus: We’re marching forth...
8. Twenty and four heavenly beings
We earthly hosts, thy band belong
For the earth, its savour is lost
Heav’nly savour, may we partake.
Chorus: We’re marching forth, to palace of
our King
Onto the promised land
Whereforth sinners can never dwell
Wherefoth there is eternal rest. Amen
