“Where art thou?" - Gen. 3:9
1. WHEN temptation around me roll
And eartth care me encompass
When appear the foe, friend to be
Destruction ploy to o’er me roll.
Chorus: O Saviour Lord, me, bid to come
As Thou in Eden, Adam called
Where art thou sinner sound
the voice
That I may from the foul be free.
2. When Satan craft’ly me deceive
Me to earthly pinacle raise
Me entreated, him to worship
That earthly stock, I may possess.
Chorus: O Saviour Lord...
3. When earthly lusts me now ensnare
Thy commands me all to ignore
Upon my wand’ring heart impressed
In vain assurance “All is well”.
Chorus: O Saviour Lord...
4. When all hope and confidence
Not in living God now repose
Vain incantations now my trust
And lusty spells my song at dawn.
Chorus: O Saviour Lord...
5. When in my self will, love to walk
In the dicates of wand’ring heart
When I in my un-stable breast
In unstable state, me abide.
Chorus: O Saviour Lord...
6. When all my hearing lost, not found
And the tracer’s call me ignore
When no redemption my hope be
And wallowest me in my sins.
Chorus: O Saviour Lord...
7. When counsellors from me doth flee
And comforters to me entrange
When sorrow like the wirl-wind rage
My head in penitence to bow.
Chorus: O Saviour Lord, me, bid to come
As Thou in Eden, Adam called
Where art thou sinner sound
the voice
That I may from the foul be free. Amen
